Hope on the Horizon

It’s been almost a week since my first dose of the Pfizer Covid vaccine and my second is scheduled for April 9th and I have to say, I’m feeling a little more hopeful these days. Maybe because I’m not watching the news so much and just paying a little more attention to what real people are saying and doing. I’m excited because I head to Merida, Mexico on April 16th to visit my dear friends Rick and John and to scope out the area as I think I have decided that is where I will begin this next chapter. The area is filled with so much history and culture and I look forward to immersing myself in all of that, plus I get to spend time with some amazing friends and visit other parts of Mexico.

Now I know there is still a long way to go and a lot of people (around the world) still need to be vaccinated but hope is something I hadn’t felt in a while, so I’ll take it. It’s a breath of fresh air knowing scientists and experts in the field are now in charge and leading the way to help us all out of this pandemic. I know there are still people that will have doubts, and rightfully so, but my hope is that the majority of the people around the world will one, have access to the vaccine, and two actually take it. I’m not very keen on the terms “normal” or “new normal” but whatever you want to call it, again I’ll take it and I look forward to the world opening back up. I’ll be sure to keep you all posted on my upcoming trip so stay tuned. Until then, please stay safe and healthy and remember, wear your damn mask!!!
